Diffusion of Innovation Theory : The Adoption Curve

This video made me think about how I support the lagards and late majority to feel comfortable with each innovation. In regards to supporting them, I will discuss this with the eLearning team.

David IDEO - 'Design thinking'

Build on ideas of others. Collaborative thinking.
Different background - Diversity.
Empathy for the consumer - Observe people using it. Look at body language.

Tim Brown - Current CEO and president.

Four parts of design thinking:

Convergent and divergent thinking.

Analyzing and synthesis (melding of different concepts, point out different similarities).

Be human-centred. E.g. so used to a problem, normalised it. E.g. spilling petrol on your shoes.

Prototype.

Interviewing:
5 why theory - get to the root cause.

Looking like a 'scientist' -
Advice - split into two parts.

In class next week - 'Look like a designer'.

Design mindsets:
  • Embrace ambiguity
  • Optimism
  • Iterate, irate, iterate
  • Learn from failure
  • Make it
  • Creative confidence
  • Empathy
Why and how you could use these mindsets better as a leader?

Late majority:
Seen it in action now I've seen it work. Cautious.
