30.3.17 Flipped preparation

What 60 schools can tell us about about teaching 21st century skills?  Old - Industrialised education system. What do we do in the classroom to get better at critical thinking and problem solving? Ask lots of question and develop systems instead of subjects. Finding problems instead of solving problems. Risks are good things. Bad news: Schools not good at innovation. Struggle with change. Connection is the key to change. Many people are facing the same problems -Link to NCOL. Innovation - Fail forward, fail backward, self-correcting, Moving to the opposite of Industrial model: Natural eco-system of the world - Creative, adaptive, permeable, dynamic, systemic, self-correcting. Dewey, Montessori. Teach into the unknown. Self evolving learners. Self evolving organisations. Preparing our students for their future not our past.
