Guess umber between 0-100. Discuss strategies.

Computers solve problems like people because they are structured by humans.

Algorithm - Series of steps. Instructions around your table.

Stand up face the table, your hips parallel to the table, face perpendicular, behind your chair.
Turn 90 degrees to the left.
Walk forward until you are one small step beyond the corner.
Turn 90 degrees to the right.

Turn 90 degrees to the right.
Walk forward until you are one small step beyond the corner.
Turn 90 degrees to the right.
Walk back to your chair. Turn your hips back to parallel to the table and face perpendicular, stand behind your chair.

NB: You'd have to explain to the computer what corner, parallel, perpendicular was.

Computational thinking:

  • Decomposition
  • Pattern recognition
  • Abstraction
  • Algorithm design
