Should we/could we teach kids to code? Why or why not? Should we teach computational thinking? 

Notes:
Code is the next universal language.
Interface to our imagination and our world.
'Tinker and twist'' time.
Kids ask difficult questions about technology and how it works. e.g. Is the internet a place?
Links to knitting and verbs - pattern recognition, patterns.
Consumers vs creators. Need to give them the tools to create using computers.
Each one of us can be part of the change.
Girl changes bike lamp into movie projector for camping trip.
Computers used to be humans who were good at calculating things - E.g. Hidden figures.
Embrace opportunities and limitations of the world.
Create something out of nothing - Power of logic.

Computational thinking: 
Solving problems and developing systems.
Understanding human behavior, by drawing on the concepts fundamental to computer science.

Response:
Yes - embraces creativity and promotes problem solving. Big problems are a bunch of little problems to be solved. Yes - but we should also link it to things like knitting, simple pattern making etc..
